Osteoporosis

Osteoporosis is a degenerative bone condition in which the bones become brittle and weakened, due to a decrease in mineral density. As a result, people with osteoporosis are at increased risk of suffering fractures and bone breaks, and experience difficulty healing from such injuries. It can also cause postural changes and bone pain, which may worsen over time, especially without effective treatment. Osteoporosis is significantly more common in women than men, and can be treated by increasing the amount of dietary or supplemental calcium, and with prescription drugs which help to rebuild bone density and stabilize bone structures throughout the body.
