Vertigo

Vertigo is a medical condition caused by psychological trauma or imbalances within the inner ear, in which the patient experiences the sensation of being in motion while stationary. Some cases of vertigo are induced by heights, in which the patient becomes dizzy and imbalanced when looking down from a significant height. In some cases, symptoms include a spinning sensation localized in the head. Most people who suffer from vertigo experience ongoing flare-ups of the condition, which can significantly detract from quality of life. Treatments include antihistamines, anti-nausea drugs and drugs which act on the brain’s neuron receptors. The effectiveness of treatment requires an accurate diagnosis of the underlying cause of the condition.
